Karen is a Certified Nutrition Specialist in the Annapolis area. She believes there are different paths to reaching one's optimal health and wellness goals. She works in partnership with clients to set those goals and create practical and positive strategies to reach them through whole natural foods and supportive lifestyle choices. Nutritional supplementation may be warranted on a case-by-case basis. Karen feels that nourishing oneself should be satisfying and health optimizing.
I obtained my Master of Science in Nutrition and Integrative Health at Maryland University of Integrative Health. After working as a clinical nutritionist at a variety of wellness centers I began my private practice.
I have created and designed nutrition education lessons, targeted nutritional materials and coordinated culinary demonstrations for various non-profit and community outreach organizations including: The Lighthouse Homeless Support Center in Annapolis, Bread for the City in Washington DC and the Joy Wellness Center in Baltimore.
As a wife, mother of two grown children, and new grandmother I enjoy spending time with my family. I also love getting outdoors with my Plott Hound, Ruby.
I feel the most inspired by my client's "eureka" moments, whether it is discovering a new food, adopting a new health supportive habit or embracing healthier lifestyle choices.
